The Center for Child Protection works closely with community agencies, task forces and other nonprofits to protect children in Travis County.
The following agencies collaborate with the Center for Child Protection to reduce the trauma for children during the investigation and prosecution of child abuse cases: Austin Police Department, A.I.S.D. Police Department, Bee Cave Police Department, Cedar Park Police Department, Dell Children’s Medical Center of Central Texas, Jonestown Police Department, Lago Vista Police Department, Lakeway Police Department, Leander Police Department, Manor Police Department, Mustang Ridge Police Department, Pflugerville I.S.D Police Department, Pflugerville Police Department, Rollingwood Police Department, Sunset Valley Police Department, Texas Department of Family & Protective Services, Travis County District Attorney’s Office, Travis County Sheriff’s Office, and West Lake Hills Police Department.
The Travis County Child Fatality Review Team (CFRT) examines the circumstances surrounding child deaths in Travis County at regularly scheduled meetings and provides accurate information on how and why children die through the compilation of an annual report.
Police Department's Internet Exploitation Investigations
The Center provides some of the funds to purchase the equipment and training needed by detectives to detect and arrest perpetrators that use the Internet to gain access to children.
Through a collaboration with Dell Children’s Medical Center, this group of nurses, physicians, social workers, Child Protective Services caseworkers, law enforcement officers, prosecutors, and Center for Children Protection staff meets weekly to discuss and assess all inpatient cases of child abuse and neglect.
