Together we will explore available food rescue opportunities that can be re-directed toward offering you some relief. Becoming a Keep Austin Fed Donor is an easy and free way to help the community. We welcome, and greatly appreciate, donations of safe and healthy food that no longer has a use in the kitchen of your restaurant, bakery, event venue, or catering facility. As long as it complies with governing health codes and Safe Food Handling Practices, Keep Austin Fed will pick up, at no cost to you, any type and quantity of food or beverage and deliver it to a charitable organization that helps people experiencing food insecurity. You are protected from liability by the Model Good Samaritan Food Donation Act (PUBLIC LAW 104-210—OCT. 1, 1996 110 STAT 3011 Public Law 104-210. 104th Congress). You can be proud to both re-purpose your hard work and keep the environment cleaner. We welcome any questions and concerns and look forward to working with you!
Keep Austin Fed was started to Be The Change – as one person you CAN change the life of a neighbor in need by providing them with a nutritious meal that will not only fill their hungry belly, but will save perfectly good food from a dead-end home in a dumpster!
